Randall Orchard Construction Ltd can trace its foundations back across two centuries, through the merger and takeover of several businesses. The Randall Orchard story began one May evening, around six o’clock, when a trilby hatted gentleman, named Mr George Shaw, knocked at the door of Randall Orchard’s parents flat. Mr Shaw was a well-established builder and businessman, who was looking for an office junior to learn all aspects of the construction industry. Randall Orchard, upon recommendation of the local grammar school was offered the position. He then made a decision that he described as, the most important in his life, and on the 17th of May 1960, began working for Mr George Shaw.
In the Christmas of 1975, Randall Orchard was invited to a meeting with Mr Shaw, and after discussions between the pair, a deal was done. The decision was made that Mr Shaw would run down his business, and Randall Orchard would fulfil all ongoing work and contract commitments that were already in progress. In the Easter of 1976, Randall Orchard Construction Ltd was formed.
The new company went from strength to strength, and experienced incredible growth throughout the coming years, and the business became a prominent player in the construction industry. The business has always kept itself involved in all sectors of construction, making Randall Orchard Construction Ltd an adaptable and versatile contractor.
In 1986, Randall Orchard was on the lookout for a trainee to work alongside him, he recalled his own appointment with Mr Shaw, and called upon the local school for their recommendation. Without hesitation, they put forward a pupil named Graeme Newton; Graeme very quickly became an important part of the business.
Toward the end of 2004, Randall Orchard decided to retire and cease working for the company. With Graeme Newton already heavily involved with the running of the business, Randall Orchard decided that after years of commitment, a takeover by Graeme and his wife Jo should take place. After discussions another deal was done, and on the 9th of December 2004, Graeme acquired Randall Orchard Construction Ltd.
As Randall Orchard Construction Ltd continues to move forward into the 21st century, it continues to adapt and maintain its position as a reputable market leader. Over the years the business has developed strong and lasting relationships with Clients, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors, Tradespeople and Suppliers.
