Reeth Sports Pavilion

The project was won in competition with the tender originally being submitted in December 2008. Funding issues meant it did not start on site until 2010.

This project involved the erection of a sports/cricket pavilion. The building is located in Reeth which is within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. As a result of this the pavilion was constructed in a traditional manner using stone and a stone slate roof. The pavilion is located close to a river and has therefore been constructed approximately 1m above ground level to account for this.

The building consists of changing rooms and showers with underfloor heating; a large machine store; kitchen and function room. Externally there is a large timber verandah and a MUGA pitch was also constructed.

Due to the rural location the electric supply took a considerable length of time to be final connected to the site. Considerate Constructors was a requirement of this project. There were no contractor designed elements.

The site manager was Robbie Stubbs and the contracts Manager was Anne Singleton. Derek Pollard, the Club’s Project Manager, said:

“I must say thank you to Randall Orchard for handling the project in a most professional manner and providing us with new facilities of which we can all be justly proud.”

The project was completed safely and to a high standard and to the Client’s tight budget constraints.
