Medical Centres

We are currently constructing a pharmacy extension to a medical centre in Bishop Auckland. We have completed most of the medical centres on a design and build basis both through competitive tendering and negotiation. Most of the works have been new builds, but some have been refurbishments. We have returned to many of the premises to do additional works since the original projects were completed.

The centres have been a mixture of brick and stone traditionally built buildings. Many of them have incorporated separate pharmacy buildings along with Surestart facilities; library and PCT offices. Many of the sites have involved the Doctors’ being located in temporary accommodation on the site whilst the new surgeries were constructed. Two have involved the partial demolition of existing surgeries, the remainder of which has been occupied whilst the new build progressed.

Health & safety was especially important on such sites. Close liaison was required with all parties, especially where the building was to be occupied by different users.

All projects have been completed safely and to a high standard and to the Client’s budget and time constraints.
